'Tis the Season for Client Appreciation: Creative Ways to Reach Out This Holiday Season in Louisiana Real Estate

Louisiana REALTORS® • November 30, 2023

The holidays are an excellent opportunity to show your loyal clients how much you appreciate them and to build stronger bonds together. You have a special chance as a Louisiana REALTOR® to brighten people up and show your gratitude. These innovative suggestions can help you connect with your clients and provide them with a memorable holiday season.

Personalized Greetings

Giving your clients customized holiday cards or emails is a time-tested, but powerful approach to express your appreciation. If at all feasible, include a personal note along with a genuine statement about their recent real estate experience.

Local Treats and Goodies

Louisiana's rich culinary heritage is well-known. Think about giving your customers a sense of the area with a well-chosen assortment of regional sweets, such as pralines, hot sauces, or perhaps a gift card to a well-liked neighborhood eatery.

Festive Open Houses

Organize an open house with a festive theme for your potential customers. Deck the halls, provide seasonal snacks and give tours of residences decked out for the holidays. This gives prospective buyers a warm, inviting setting in addition to showcasing your listings.

Virtual Home Tours

Provide virtual tours of your listings that are decorated for the holidays to individuals who might not be able to attend in person. Emphasize each home's own qualities and how they might provide the ideal setting for joyous occasions.

Home Maintenance Tips

Give your clients useful advice on how to get their houses ready for the winter. Give advice on seasonal chores including HVAC maintenance and weatherproofing. This shows that you care about their welfare even after the sale.

Holiday Events and Charities

Disseminate information about volunteer opportunities, philanthropic drives, and holiday celebrations in the area. This demonstrates your expertise in the field and highlights your commitment to give back.

Exclusive Client Webinars or Workshops

Organize an online conference with a theme related to homeownership. This could be talking about potential investments, market trends, or advice on how to get the most out of their home.

Personalized Gifts

Think about giving your clients a unique, well-thought-out gift that complements their hobbies. This might be anything from a book that suits their likes to specially designed décor.

Year-End Market Updates

Give your clients a thorough rundown of the Louisiana real estate market. In order to keep them informed and confident in their real estate decisions, highlight important trends, projections, and insights.

Taking advantage of the holidays to establish a connection with your clients is not just a kind gesture but also a testament to your dedication to their real estate success. Your outreach efforts will be remembered long after you implement these original ideas, and you'll lay the groundwork for more productive partnerships in the upcoming year.

Louisiana’s 2026 Regular Session opened this week with several developments that matter directly to REALTORS ®, property managers and housing providers, alongside some broader political shifts worth watching. HB 292: Security Deposit Return Timelines Rep. Delisha Boyd’s HB 292, which addresses procedures for returning residential security deposits, was deferred to next week. This provides additional time for stakeholders to engage with members on practical impacts for lease administration, move out inspections and documentation standards. We’ll continue working to ensure any changes to deposit law are clear, workable and do not expose housing providers to unreasonable liability. Land Use and Development: St. James Parish Decision The Louisiana Supreme Court’s recent St. James Parish decision significantly tightens the standards for overturning local land use decisions, reinforcing that zoning and permitting authority rests with parish and municipal governments as long as their decisions are not arbitrary or capricious. For real estate and development, that means more predictability if projects are aligned with adopted plans and ordinances, but also higher stakes in local elections, planning processes and parish-level negotiations. Governor’s State of the State In his State of the State address, Governor Jeff Landry reiterated his push to phase out the state income tax, expand the LA GATOR and MJ Foster scholarship and workforce programs, and replace vehicle inspection stickers with a QR code system. These programs frame a debate around long-term competitiveness, workforce readiness and household cost of living which are all key drivers of housing demand and migration patterns. Business & Market Trends The business community is focusing the session on insurance, workforce and energy. Commercial and property insurance costs remain a top concern for employers and property owners, and we are monitoring civil justice and insurance reform proposals that could affect market stability and availability. At the same time, Louisiana is seeing more than $100 billion in announced industrial and data center projects, which could reshape local markets, labor conditions and housing needs in multiple regions of the state.
