NFIP Extended to June 14

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has been extended 2 weeks until June 14th .  Thanks go out to our entire Congressional Delegation, your NAR Advocacy Group, and your Louisiana REALTORS® Federal Political Coordinators for making this happen.  In particular, thanks go out to Congressman Clay Higgins and FPC Carole Horn for their work and communications with NAR and LR on this current extension! The hard work will continue as the House and Senate must reauthorize the program before June 14.

For those with closings coming up soon, NFIP is authorized to renew/issue new flood insurance policies until midnight at the two week deadline, but will not be able to do so after that time unless Congress extends the program.  If your buyer needs to obtain flood insurance they should try to obtain it as soon as possible.
