Insurance Resources for LA REALTORS® and Consumers

Louisiana REALTORS® is excited to announce our partnership with the Louisiana Department of Insurance for new education offerings and insurance resources for real estate agents and consumers.

In conjunction with the LDI, two new classes, Know Your Policy and The Ins & Outs of the Claims Process, were created to help bring a deeper understanding of the purpose and process of insurance. Through analysis of the policy structure, the individual components that comprise this legal document, and the ethical standards the LDI works to preserve and expand, students will acquire valuable knowledge that will directly contribute to their professional development.  The first series of classes was held in on June 1st and you can view the videos below.

In addition to the new education offerings, LAR has created a new Insurance Resource for not only REALTORS® but consumers as well.  With a predicted above-average hurricane season for 2022 in the Atlantic this year, it is extremally important everyone is prepared.  The latest report is predicting 16-20 named storms and six to eight hurricanes. Of those hurricanes, about three to five are forecast to reach major hurricane status, which occurs when a storm reaches Category 3 strength with winds exceeding 111 mph or higher.  Since hurricanes develop so quickly and landfall forecast sometimes changes in the last 48 hours. It's a good idea to be prepared ahead of time.  Be sure to visit our resources below for more information on how you and your clients can begin preparing for the upcoming season.

This is a growing resource which we will update periodically. Last updated on 6/6/2022.
