2023 Spring Into Action Conference Recap

Louisiana REALTORS® • May 25, 2023

Louisiana REALTORS® successfully hosted their annual Spring Into Action legislative conference in Baton Rouge on April 25-26, 2023.

The two-day event provided REALTORS® the latest in industry changing issues while engaging in conversations with the state’s legislators and their peers.

The conference offered informational sessions and continuing education for REALTORS® in attendance.  Bill Dedman, Pulitzer Prize Winner, kicked off with an in depth look at Fair Housing with his information on Long Island Divided, while Daniel Duggan with the Louisiana Housing Corporation detailed the LHC's Homebuyer Loan Programs that provide affordable options available for the citizens of the state of Louisiana.  Keynote speaker, Julie Stokes, provided valuable information on bipartisanship and Kim Calloway provided information on important happenings in the session and the priorities around the legislature.

Other highlights included a reception for our YPN members, local leadership meetings and a Women's Council of REALTORS® luncheon.

After a successful visit to the Capitol, our REALTORS® enjoyed live music and crawfish at a reception with their Legislators and peers. During this reception, REALTOR® of the Year and the Lawrence R. DeMarcay Distinguished Service Awards were presented. Congratulations to Bill Boyd on receiving the REALTOR® of the Year Award and to David McKey for receiving the Lawrence R. DeMarcay Distinguished Service Award.

Louisiana REALTORS® looks forward to hosting REALTORS® from around the state at the Riding with the Brand Event in conjunction with our Fall Governance Meetings and Installation, September 19-20, 2023.
