Consumer Guide Update: Spotting Deepfake Scams in Real Estate
NAR is pleased to share the latest consumer guide to help buyers and sellers protect themselves from deepfake scams in real estate. The guide explains how AI-generated audio or video might be used to impersonate real people involved in a real estate transaction to divert down payments or closing funds to bad actors. The guide offers tips to spot and avoid deepfake traps during the sale or purchase of a home.
As a reminder, all guides in this series are available for download—in both English and Spanish—on facts.realtor. Please allow up to two weeks for the Spanish version of the latest resource to be translated and uploaded.
