About the fund
NAR first launched the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) as the REALTORS® Relief Fund in 2001, within hours of the devastating Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks—raising more than $8.4 million to provide assistance so that surviving family members could stay in their homes. Since then, more than $25 million has been raised for victims of disasters, including wildfires, tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes. The charitable foundation is dedicated to providing housing-related assistance to victims of disasters.
The Louisiana REALTORS® Relief Fund was established in 2005 as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to providing financial assistance to REALTOR® members and the consumers they serve in times of natural or man-made disasters. The Fund provided indispensable assistance to the REALTOR community since its implementation following the catastrophic effects of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. Those who have suffered extensive damages due to the occurrence of natural disasters can rely on the relief fund to assist in their recovery and rebuilding efforts. The funds delivered ensure property owners can once again enjoy the pride of ownership, REALTORS® are able to practice their trade and communities are revitalized and strengthened.
Flooding of 2016
In August 2016, the relief fund aided victims of the devastating floods that hit our state. More than 1,000 families were assisted and over $2 Million came from REALTOR® family donations to aid members in the Northeast and South Louisiana regions.
100% of the donations were dispersed to REALTOR® members, their families and Louisiana residents. We want to THANK the REALTOR family for their generous donations that helped our members in the days and months following the disaster.
The Louisiana REALTORS® Relief Fund could not exist without the generosity of members, fellow REALTOR associations and other organizations and businesses across the country. If you'd like to make a donation, follow the link below.
Through our continued efforts to support the community during times of need, we have set up a special drawing for a one-of-a-kind painting. For each $20 donation made, your name will be entered to win a framed “You Can’t Drown the Blues” print by George Rodrigue.
