Why do you want to be in the leadership position of Secretary/Treasurer?

I have a strong belief in the importance of the role Louisiana Realtors plays in our real estate industry.  The staff does a wonderful job, but we as Realtors are also counted on to volunteer our time in order for that important role to continue.  Over the years, I have seen the efforts of LR leadership make a difference in the success of our organization and I would like the opportunity to also be a difference maker.  I have strived to be active both on a local and statewide basis with the Realtor association since being licensed over 15 years ago.  I have served on numerous committees, as well as the Board of Directors for both organizations for several years.  I have also served as President of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors.  This experience, along with running the day to day operation of a large real estate company, has prepared me for a leadership position.  I also have an enormous desire to see Louisiana Realtors continue to be the voice of the Realtors statewide.

How do you think you would make a difference as an officer?

I think my main assets are my organizational, business and leadership skills.  My background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi with a major in banking and finance.  I have experience working in the banking business for several years and running a real estate company for many years, growing it from around 15 agents to over 100.  Along with my past experience as a volunteer in our association, I am presently serving as Regional Vice President of Region II, Chairman of the State Legislative Committee and for my second year on the LR Finance Committee.  I am committed to putting forth my best effort as an officer for Louisiana Realtors and I know that can be an asset to the association.
