Why do you want to be in the leadership role of President-Elect?
I think it is my duty as a member of this association to volunteer my time to help make Louisiana Realtors a strong asset for its members. I know that I have the leadership skills and the knowledge to move LR forward and improve on what past leaders have already accomplished.
If elected, how do you intent to use your position to benefit the membership?
Associations are presently having a tough time structuring a breakeven budget with the decline in association membership. I believe my background in finance, my organizational skills and my experience in running a large brokerage firm can be of benefit in this area. I will strive to do what is in the best interest of the members by working hard, keeping up with current trends, and using knowledge and facts to make the right decisions for the membership.
If elected, do you plan on seeking a higher office in the future?
I would like to step into the role of President of Louisiana Realtors in 2013.
National Service
I am serving my second term this year on the NAR Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee.
State Service
I have served for several years on the LR Board of Directors In 2011, I am serving my second year as the Chairman of the State Legislative Committee, also serving my third year on the LR Finance Committee, I have served on a number of other committees and workgroups in the past including Strategic Planning and Risk Management. I am a 2006 Graduate of the LR Leadership Program.
Local Service
I served for several years on the local Board of Directors and was President of the GBRAR in 2007. I have served on most of the committees at the local board including chairing several, such as Governmental Relations Committee. I also have worked on a number of workgroups locally.
Personal message to membership
I am proud to be a member of Louisiana REALTORS and will do my best to continue the tradition of strong leadership. We are facing some tough times and will need to make some tough decisions to maintain the level of service for our members that they should expect. I will accept that responsibility and look forward to working with the LR staff and with the membership to maintain the strength of our association.
