Where Have All The Leaders Gone?
As a REALTOR board or committee leader, you have probably looked around and noticed how the volunteer experience has changed. Marcus Wally, NAR’s “International Speaker of the Year” engaged attendees with humor while illustrating how to take advantage of new volunteer models that provide a more effective and rewarding leadership experience.

Celebration of Louisiana
REALTORS enjoyed great food and a unique Louisiana history lesson from Secretary of State Jay Dardenne as he wove his way through our state’s history of colorful characters, music and places.

Grassroots Political Training
Political consultant Patrick Dennis from Atlanta GA was the former Political Director for the five-state NAR region including Louisiana. Patrick taught REALTORS how to take an issue to the next level and have success in overcoming challenges to the real estate industry and private property rights.

Professional Standards Training
Geared toward REALTOR members serving on professional standards, grievance and mediation committees on the state or local level, this course, taught by John Phillips, provided a complete overview for the handling of ethics complaints. Material included revisions to the Code of Ethics, the role of the Grievance Tribunal and Professional Standards Panel, associated policies and administrative timelines.

Issues and More Issues
LR’s “Brown Bag” issues Luncheon tackled leadership topics and provided answers to help REALTORS in their 2010 leadership role. How to stay out of the antitrust legal pit? How to bridge the gap between “Fluffy Maes” and new age volunteers? How to take advantage of NAR programs and tap into FREE money and resources to make your programs more successful?

Team Meetings
REALTORS listened in on LR’s volunteer committees and heard what will take place in the coming year and the value that will be delivered to the REALTOR member.

Networking & Fun, LR Style
Have you ever been to the Louisiana REALTORS offices in Baton Rouge? LR opened the doors of its headquarters for an open house with food, drink and REALTOR networking. REALTORS visited with the staff and their peers at this reception.
