Survive & Thrive was the theme for the Louisiana REALTORS 2009 Fall Conference, scheduled for September 17-18 at the Hilton Capitol Center Hotel in downtown Baton Rouge.

It has been a year of challenges and opportunities in Louisiana’s real estate market, and the goal of this year’s major state REALTOR event was to give attendees new tools and information to succeed in ANY market conditions. And LR designed the conference to make it more affordable than ever for REALTORS to attend. For as low as $65, REALTORS attended a full day of programming designed to help boost profit and productivity with top industry speakers.

National instructor Grant Simon explained what REALTORS need to know about the real economic impact of real estate and what it will take for the markets at all levels to get back to normal. He also showed how REALTORS, are a “stimulus package.”

Louisiana Speaker of the House Jim Tucker provided his perspectives from the 2009 Legislative Session and an outlook on upcoming state issues and legislation.

Sales and leadership coach Gary Golden delivered an upbeat message and valuable tactics to help REALTORS get and stay motivated for success in their practice.

Brokers and managers from around the state attended an exclusive breakfast session with their peers to discuss common brokerage issues and challenges in today’s marketplace.

A new Fast Breaking Issues forum allowed REALTORS to hear presentations from several experts on a variety of real estate issues. This fast-paced “round-robin” type format covered important real estate topics and facilitate discussion in an efficient group setting.

REALTORS also attended the 2010 Officer Installation event honoring incoming Louisiana REALTORS and local association officers at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion on the evening of September 17. They wrapped up a day of information and education with peer networking in a prestigious setting.

Additionally, LR conducted its governance meetings, including REALTOR Town Hall, Regional Caucuses and a General Membership/Board of Directors meeting, along with special programs for local board presidents and association executives.
