Descriptions of all Louisiana REALTORS volunteer teams are provided below, along with the staff contact for each.

Appraisal Team

Staff Director: Norman Morris, Senior Vice President - Governmental Affairs

This team is composed of REALTOR members and state certified appraisers who review, discuss and provide recommendations to the LR Board of Directors on real estate appraisal issues and related legislation. The team functions under the Legislative Division of LR. The group also provides input and guidance on networking pportunities, and professional development for the appraisal sector.


Commercial Team

Staff Director: Malcolm Young, CEO

This team focuses on commercial and economic development issues impacting real estate in Louisiana, and serves as the voice of commercial REALTORS within the state association. Specific programs include economic and commercial development forums, input on products, programs and services designed for commercial specialists.


Federal Legislative Team

Staff Director: Norman Morris, Senior Vice President - Governmental Affairs

This team reviews federal issues impacting the real estate industry and licensees in Louisiana. The group also assists in reviewing congressional legislation and coordinating Contact Teams and in-state visits with members of Congress. This group provides input on events to be held in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the annual National Association of REALTORS midyear meetings.


Grievance Team

Staff Director: Scott Johnson, General Counsel

This team reviews complaints and local association requests for ethics or arbitration hearings. Members must be trained in Professional Standards or willing to participate in annual training of Grievance and Professional Standards. The team is to remain on call on an as-needed basis and handles cases by conference call.


Housing Opportunities / Cultural Diversity Team

Staff Director: Scott Johnson, General Counsel

This team provides input on programs, products and services developed in the areas of fair housing and diversity, low income housing programs and housing needs. The group reviews federal programs impacting housing areas and provides input on tools to communicate and educate the membership on housing programs available to clients and customers.



LR Leadership Team

Staff Director: Amy P. Fennell, Vice President - Professional Development

This team is comprised of LR Leadership program alumni, works to provide input for the association's leadership development program and any related alumni activities. The objective of LR Leadership, which focuses on pertinent real estate and membership organization topics, is to create knowledgeable leaders for the organization and their community in the future.


Marketing & Member Services Team

Staff Director: Malcolm Young, CEO

This team helps serve as a source of association and industry information. The group reviews and provides input into communication and marketing efforts, as well as technology-related vehicles and programs developed for REALTOR® members and enhancements to the member services.


Mediation Team

Staff Director: Scott Johnson, General Counsel

This team is responsible for developing mediation training programs and serves as a pool of mediation officers for mediation hearings.


Professional Development Team

STAFF CONTACT: Amy P. Fennell, Vice President - Professional Development

This team works to provide input and develop education, professional development programs, and designations offered through LR for REALTOR members.


Professional Standards Team

Staff Director: Scott Johnson, General Counsel

This team is composed of REALTOR members who are selected to serve on Ethics or Arbitration panels. Members must be trained in Professional Standards or willing to participate in annual training of Grievance and Professional Standards. The team is to remain on call on an as-needed basis to participate in hearing panels.



Risk Management Team

Staff Director: Scott Johnson, General Counsel

This team provides oversight and input on programs, products and services to reduce risk in brokerage operations. The group provides input and direction for the Association's legal hotline and products, reviews courses, forms and other services to assist in reducing risk for brokers and agents. This team meets in conjunction State Legislative team.


State Legislative Team

Staff Director: Norman Morris, Senior Vice President - Governmental Affairs

This team reviews proposed legislation on the state and local levels impacting private property rights and real estate licensees. The group also monitors activities of regulatory agencies that impact real estate and provides input on methods of encouraging and involving the membership in the legislative process. This team reviews proposed legislative bills on an annual basis and determines the position of the association, updates on housing policies and reviews proactive legislation to introduce during legislative sessions. Meets during two regular meetings and has to attend at least three other called meetings throughout the year.


Strategic Planning Team

Staff Director: Malcolm Young, CEO

Reviews internal and external factors impacting the operation of the association on an annual basis, making recommendations on the general direction and program development of the association. Meets a minimum of two times outside of regular business meetings.
